Your organization has an incredible opportunity to gain exposure and awareness among our vast stakeholders from Spartanburg and Cherokee County and provide employees with meaningful engagement opportunities. Start a Site

While GOTR programs are open to any girl from any school, it works best if girls can participate at their own schools. Also, a church or community center is an ideal location for a late afternoon site for girls from different schools. We have hosted teams at 15 different locations since 2008.

Girls on the Run Spartanburg SC

If you are interested in helping pre-adolescent girls in Spartanburg develop into strong, healthy, confident young women you have come to the right place.

We can use in a variety of ways:

  • Head Coaches must be female, 21 yrs or older and make a full ten week commitment twice per week after school. Find out more about becoming a head coach in our Starting a Site information.
  • Assistant Coaches can be on-site once or twice per week throughout the season and do not need to prepare outside of class. This is a great opportunity for parents and college students to get involved.

To register now as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach you may click here.

  • Running Buddiescommit to run with a girl at her final 5k and ideally can come out to one practice run. This is a fun way to get a glimpse of the program and only requires a few hours.

To register now as a Running Buddy you may click here.

  • Administrative assistants and other volunteers are needed to make everything run smoothly behind the scenes. We need help managing databases, preparing grants, working with schools to set up new sites, recruiting more volunteers and serving as Board Members.

If interested in volunteering for GOTR, please fill out an online application by clicking on any of above headings.
